  1. 15th Annual SoRo Community Festival
    Event on 2012-06-03 11:00:00
Open to the public, the SoRo Festival features live local musical entertainment and dancing, "Camp SoRo" offering free arts & crafts, attractions and a rock-climbing wall for children, 60 vendor booths featuring neighborhood businesses and community information, and a variety of culinary delights from some of L.A.'s hottest gourmet food trucks. Additionally, the SoRo Festival will feature local school children's presentations of art and science projects on the Festival's theme "SoRo Sails for 15 Years."

Confirmed gourmet trucks attending this year's SoRo Festival are Fat Burger, Bool Korean BBQ Tacos & Pastels, No Tomatoes! A New Sensation in Indian Street Fare, and King Kone Ice Cream Co.

The SoRo Festival stage will spotlight live musical and dance performances from some of SoCal's talented young performers, including appearances from World Garden Dance and Music Studio, and the award winning Jazz Vocal Ensemble from Hamilton High School and top 40 and the Latin Soul sound of The Westside Crew.

A non-profit undertaking, staffed entirely by volunteers, the SoRo Festival celebrates the broad diversity and sense of unity that exists among the some 45,000 people who live or work in the seven neighborhoods encompassed in the South Robertson (SoRo) community. It encourages beautification and revitalization of the SoRo corridor, where people can shop, dine, and enjoy a good quality of life, and it is committed to strengthening local educational institutions.

Boasting an attendance of between 6,000 – 8,000 people who attend each year, the SoRo Festival's proceeds support local schools and community improvement projects. The SoRo Community Festival is put on by the South Robertson Neighborhoods Council and SoRo, Inc. and funded in part by a grant from the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department. We would like to invite the entire Southern California community to join our event. Admission to the SoRo Community Festival is FREE and FREE street parking is also available.

    Fuerza Bruta: Look Up
    Event on 2012-05-16 20:00:00
From the creators of the smash-hit De La Guarda, Fuerza Bruta is an event where worlds collide, dreams are real and reality takes a back seat. The visuals are spectacular. The effects are stunning. Performers run and tumble across a vertical wall of technicolor cloth, a man runs headlong through a wall – most extraordinary of all – performers dance in watery world just above the audience’s heads. This all takes place to a soundtrack that traverses thumping club beats to the mellow sounds of new world music. Fuerza Bruta took Europe, South America and Miami by storm – and has been captivating New York audiences as one of the most talked about theatrical experiences On or off Broadway!
